Privacy Policy

Pantria · last updated 2026-04-29 · Effective immediately

Pantria ("we", "us") is a food and cosmetic ingredient scanner mobile app. We respect your privacy and collect only what is necessary for the app to work. This policy explains what data we store, how we use it, and the third-party services involved.

1. Data we collect

All cloud-stored data is owner-scoped via row-level security on Supabase: no other user, and no Pantria operator, can read your history.

2. Data we do NOT collect

3. Third-party data sources

Product information (names, brands, ingredient lists, nutriments, images) is fetched from the public Open Food Facts and Open Beauty Facts APIs under the Open Database License. These services do not receive your account identity — only the barcode or product name you searched.

4. Crash reporting

Anonymized crash telemetry (Sentry) is sent only when Sentry is configured at build time and never includes personal data, scan content, or your email.

5. Huawei Health Kit integration (Android, optional, opt-in)

If you opt in via Settings → Health → "Sync to Huawei Health", Pantria writes the following data to the Huawei Health app installed on your device, and only when you tap "Add to today" on a scanned product:

Scope requested: https://www.huawei.com/healthkit/nutrition.write (write only). Pantria does not request read access to any Health Kit data.

Data flow: the write happens device-locally between Pantria and Huawei Health. Pantria does not upload Health Kit data to its servers. You can revoke the permission at any time through Huawei Health's permission settings or by toggling off the same setting in Pantria.

6. Subscriptions and purchases

Subscription state (Plus / Pro / Free) is stored against your account so the app can unlock paid features. The actual payment is processed by Huawei In-App Purchases — Pantria never sees your card details. Receipts are validated server-side via a Supabase Edge Function using Huawei's published signature verification key.

7. Your rights

8. Children

Pantria is not directed at children under 13. The "child mode" setting is a parental aid: it tightens the additive rules used when scoring products for a child the parent is shopping for; it does not collect data about the child.

9. Data retention

Account data is retained until you delete the account or request deletion. Local-device caches (Hive boxes for scan results, recommendations, daily intake, pantry, and shopping list) are removed when you uninstall the app.

10. Changes

If we change this policy materially, the in-app Settings → Privacy policy link and this URL will be updated and dated. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
